A federal judge on Tuesay ruled in favor of Texas and three other states, issuing a preliminary injunction against a Biden administration policy that attempted to close the "gun show loophole."
US District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk ruled that federal authorities could not enforce the rule, which would close the loophole in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Utah.
The federal government began to require private sellers or individuals at gun shows to conduct the same background checks on buyers that registered firearms dealers do.
The four states sued, claiming Congress had not granted that authority.
