Just a week before graduation, a Lufkin High School senior has died in a car crash over the weekend.

Sunday evening, a vigil was held in memory of Lance Modisette on the ball field at Lufkin High School. Modisette was a pitcher and outfielder for the Panthers.

Lance was also a member of the "Thundering 13," the noted East Texas little league team that won the US Championship in the 2017 Little League World Series.

The Lufkin All-Stars then lost to Japan in the finals.

Modisette died Friday in a two-car crash in Nacogdoches County following a post-season team outing.
