A biographical film about Houston furniture mogul and philanthropist Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is now moving into production this month in Texas.

The movie, written and directed by Houston native Shane Andries, casts actor Billy Magnussen in the lead role, with Dianna Agron and Rob Corddry joining the project.

Producers say the film will follow McIngvale’s rise from the early days of Gallery Furniture to his well-known community work and headline-grabbing sports wagers.

Mattress Mack has become one of Houston’s most recognizable public figures, often using his business to support residents during crises ranging from hurricanes to winter storms.

The project does not yet have an announced release date but is expected to film across multiple locations in Texas. The biopic marks the latest effort to bring McIngvale’s larger-than-life story to a national audience.
