Miami fans catch falling cat with a U.S. flag

The best catch in Saturday's Miami-Appalachian State football game was not even on the field. It was in the stands at Hard Rock Stadium where a cat fell from the upper deck only to be caught by fans waiting on the lower deck.

Video shows the cat clinging by first two and then just one paw, and when she could hold on no longer she fell.

But fans, later identified as Miami season ticket holder Craig Cromer and his wife, grabbed a US flag from a railing and held it like a net to brake the cat's fall.

The kitty bounced off and was caught by another fan who held the safe-and-sound feline aloft like Simba in the Lion King.

Hard Rock Stadium tweeted: "We are happy that due to the heads up nature of fans in sections 107, 110 & 208 the cat landed safely after a harrowing fall. We wish the cat the best in his remaining eight lives."
