There are big improvements in the Palo Pinto County Storage fire which blackened nearly a thousand acres since last Wednesday when the fire erupted on the south side of Possum KIngdom Lake.

Over the weekend firefighters made great strides, getting the fire 90 percent contained based on Sunday evening's update from the Texas A&M Forest Service.

That now means mandatory evacuation orders have been lifted in the Gaines Bend, Hells Gate and Sportsman World developments.

The Forest Service now says the origin of the fire is man-made but they're not saying if it was on purpose or not. They called it the Storage Fire because the flames started behind a storage facility in Palo Pinto County.
