The once mostly contained Palo Pinto County Storage Fire has flared up again over the weekend but firefighters are making quick work of it.
Last week, the Texas A&M Forest Service announced the fire south of Possum Kingdom Lake had been contained. But on Friday, flames were spotted outside the containment lines.
The fire went from 100 percent containment to 80 percent, but crews worked hard through the weekend and by Sunday evening's update the figure was updated to 90 percent containment.
When it was first contained last week, the burned over acreage was estimated at 950 but now it's up to 975 acres burned.
On Sunday in Palo Pinto County, the winds were blowing up to 15 mph with gusts of close to 25, but today winds are expected to be only 5 to 10 mph which should help the firefighters.
