You might be looking for Amazon holiday deals right now, but a Senate investigation found something else. It accuses Amazon of being unsafe for the thousands of North Texans who work for Amazon.
The committee claims Amazon has been tweaking workplace injury data to make its warehouses seem safer. This report follows an 18-month probe into seven years of Amazon's workplace injury data. It found that Amazon warehouses are less safe than the industry average, with workers twice as likely to be injured, compared to employees at other warehouses.
Amazon is denying the allegations, saying they've made tons of safety improvements and they're accusing the committee of twisting data to fit a false narrative.
There are about 90,000 Amazon workers in Texas with a new 1.7-million-square-foot operations facility currently under construction in Cleburne.
