A pair of Mississippi prison escapees are apparently on the run in Texas after their stolen van was hauled from Lake Fork near Quitman.
Someone reported seeing a man push the van down a boat ramp into the water and reported it to police. When it was pulled from the lake, investigators learned it was the same van stolen from a church near a state prison about 15 miles from the Mississippi capital of Jackson.
In a Christmas Day head count, inmates Traverro McElroy and Tyler Payne turned up missing.
McElroy is doing time for murder and Payne is in prison for a car-jacking. Both are considered dangerous.
