“Everything’s bigger in Texas” may be a cliché at this point, but it’s one that keeps getting proven true time and time again.

The latest example occurred recently in Port Aransas where a group of anglers took two hours to catch a massive Bluefin Tuna. It took the entire 16 person group, and five crew members, aboard the charter fishing boat to reel in the fish that ended up weighing over 600 pounds.

Dolphin Dock’s Deep Sea Fishing promises guests a 56 hour “fishing trip of a lifetime” through the “Texas Safari,” and one of their most recent groups definitely got that experience. The 16-person group set out aboard the Dolphin Express charter fishing boat on March 24th and within minutes they were in the fight of their lives with a 676 pound Bluefin Tuna. “When one angler was done, I would call for ‘fresh meat on the reel,’” said Captain Tim Oestreich.

According to New York Post, the battle against the fish even snapped the fishing rod in two at one point. Eventually the team was able to defeat the fish, as it took eight people just to get it in the boat. After successfully catching the massive fish, the group will definitely never forget this trip.
