Police in Texas are investigating after an industrial accident at a cotton processing plant that left one man dead Thursday morning.
Police say 62-year-old Santos Galicia-Hernandez suffered a fatal crush injury while working between two 1,500 pound stacks of cotton.
The Slaton Police Department believes the squeeze-lift operator didn't know Galicia-Hernandez was working between the two cotton stacks when he pressed the row.
UMC EMS was called to the scene, but efforts to revive Mr. Galicia-Hernandez were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The U.S. Occupation Safety & Health Administration will investigate the accident.
