Texas Senator John Cornyn is pushing for the US to allow even more military aid to be transferred to Ukraine.
Poland has offered to send some of its old MiG-29 fighter planes to a US military base in Germany so they can be transferred to Ukraine. The White House and US military leaders have rejected that idea. But Senator Cornyn says the US needs to step up its efforts to help Ukraine fight Russia's invasion.
He says the US should not dictate the weapons that Ukraine can get and that the decision on planes should be up to leaders in Ukraine.
