For many people, there is nothing better than getting a full night’s sleep. Of course, there are plenty of factors preventing people from getting at least seven hours of sleep per night.
Now, a new list has revealed which cities in the United States get the most rest, and Texas landed four cities in the top 10; with two coming from DFW.
According to the American College of Sports Medicine’s 2021 American Fitness Index, Arlington and Fort Worth are two of the most well rested cities in the country. Arlington landed the fourth spot on the list, with Fort Worth coming in sixth.
DFW wasn’t alone in representing Texas on the list, with Lubbock taking the number one spot, and Corpus Christi landing at number seven on the list.
72.4 percent of Arlington residents and 70.9 percent of Fort Worth residents snooze at least seven hours daily, according to Dallas Culture Map. “Sleep deprivation’s effect on working memory is staggering. Your brain loses efficiency with each hour of sleep deprivation,” said sleep expert David Earnest, a professor at Texas A&M University’s College of Medicine.
Luckily, plenty in DFW don’t have to worry about that.
