Our quiet weather pattern will persist over the next several days, with high pressure in the upper levels building across the area. No precipitation is forecast until possibly the middle of next week.

Good morning and happy Wednesday. We are waking up to another cool morning, although not as cold as the past couple of mornings. Temperatures range from the mid 40s to low 50s across North Texas under clear skies. Plenty of sunshine is expected today, with afternoon highs reaching the mid to upper 70s, well above average for this time of year.

Our benign weather pattern will continue through the end of the week and weekend, with plenty of sunshine and gusty southerly winds. Afternoon highs will approach 80 degrees on Thursday, with low 80s expected Friday through the weekend, and morning lows in the low 60s. There is a slight chance of showers late Sunday, but chances appear minimal at this time, and I have removed rain from my 7-Day forecast.

I would like to mention the elevated grass fire danger through the end of the week and weekend. Please be cautious.

The system previously expected to move through North Texas this weekend has slowed down considerably and will be situated in Southern California by the weekend. It is too early to determine its subsequent trajectory. I will have more information once the system makes landfall in California by Sunday. If it tracks in our direction, it may impact our weather by the middle of next week, potentially bringing welcome rain to the area.

Have a terrific day today and please enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got.
