A cool start this morning, but a gradual warm-up is anticipated throughout the remainder of the week. The $100,000 question is, how much rain will we experience as we head into the weekend? We'll discuss this in this morning's forecast discussion below.

Good morning, and welcome to Tuesday. Happy Veterans Day to all the brave men and women who have served our country over the years. Thank you for your service.

Temperatures have fallen into the upper 30s to low 40s this morning, with a light south wind. As the day progresses, south winds will increase, warming temperatures to near 70 degrees. However, grass fire danger will be critical west of Interstate 35W.

South winds will relax slightly tomorrow, with afternoon highs reaching the mid to upper 70s under clear skies. South winds will pick up again Thursday through Saturday, warming temperatures to near 80 on Thursday and the low 80s on Friday and Saturday. Low clouds are expected to invade during morning hours by the end of the week and into the weekend, with morning lows in the 50s to near 60 degrees.

Regarding rain chances this weekend, current data has diminished the coverage of rain across North Texas. However, this does not mean that things won't change between now and the weekend. The system poised to impact our weather is still over open water in the Eastern Pacific. Once this makes landfall by Thursday, models will have a better idea of the track, speed, and strength of the system. Stay tuned.

Currently, data indicates that showers and storms will form along a weak specific front that comes through the second half of Sunday. Afternoon highs on Sunday will be in the mid-70s. Cooler weather will move in by early next week. Stay tuned for weather changes in the forecast between now and Friday.

Have a great day today, and please enjoy the weather when you can; it's the only weather you've got!
