Prepare for a series of pleasant days across North Texas, as a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere dominates the weather. Expect cool mornings and warm afternoons ahead. Enjoy your day.
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Hopefully, you enjoyed the extra hour of sleep yesterday. Although the day seemed to drag on, who can complain about the extra rest?
Grab a jacket on your way out the door this morning, as temperatures have dropped into the 40s with a light wind. Enjoy the beautiful day ahead, with temperatures warming into the upper 70s and light winds.
A high-pressure bubble in the upper atmosphere will dictate our weather for most of the week. Morning lows will dip into the 50s from Tuesday to Saturday, with afternoon highs reaching 80 or slightly above. Winds will pick up from the south, gusting up to 25 mph, creating a critical grass fire danger, particularly west of the Denton to Fort Worth to Cleburne line. Please be aware of this hazard.
New data suggests a weak cold front will arrive on Friday, cooling temperatures back into the 70s for highs, but it will rapidly move back north on Saturday, with readings approaching 80 degrees again.
By early Sunday morning, a stronger cold front will arrive, but unfortunately, it will not bring any rain. The high temperature will occur before sunrise, as temperatures fall into the upper 60s. A stiff north wind will usher in much cooler air, causing temperatures to slowly drop into the 50s by late afternoon. Unfortunately, no rain is expected with this front, at least for now.
Next week will begin cool and dry, with morning lows in the 40s and afternoon highs struggling to reach 60 degrees by Monday. Then, a warming trend is expected.
The forecast is relatively straightforward. I hope everyone has a great day today and please enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got!
