We're starting off in the seventies once again and nothing showing up on RadarOmega. We may see a few late day showers and storms dotting north Texas today with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s.
The upper level ridge of high pressure will briefly move northeast of Texas this weekend, allowing a few scattered showers and storms to creep in from the southeast. Due to more cloud cover, afternoon highs will cool a little bit into the low to mid nineties. Heat index values will be near 100゚.
Next week, we could see a few late day showers and storms each day with temperatures getting back into mid to upper 90s.
As of now, soon to become a Hurricane Ida will have no impact on us here in North Texas. The official track still takes it into the central coastline of Louisiana late Sunday into early Monday as a possible MAJOR Cat. 3 hurricane. Wind could exceed 115 mph at landfall. Residents across the Louisiana coastline need to start making preparations now.
