Well, well, well, look who's ready for some weather shenanigans! Above average temperatures, a big fat zero in the rainfall department, a dash of fog, and the first day of winter is just around the corner. Those are your weather stories on this cloudy and mild Thursday morning, but wait, I'm a day early, it's actually Wednesday, folks!

Good morning, my friends and followers, and welcome to the middle of the week. I hope everyone's having a blast so far, except for those parental units who are about to lose their peace and quiet with the kids out of school soon. And don't even get me started on the college kids, they're out until mid-January, lucky ducks!

The polar jet stream is hanging out way north of the Lone Star State, and the subtropical jet is chillin' across Deep South Texas, which means no major storm systems are coming our way anytime soon. And don't worry, no bitter cold air is plunging out of Canada to ruin our fun.

We're waking up to temps in the low to mid-50s, with a whole lot of cloudiness and a sprinkle of drizzle, but most of us will stay dry, because, why not? No sun for us today, but we'll make do with afternoon highs in the mid-60s. And if you're east of Central Expressway and Interstate 45, you might just get some showers, but don't worry, it's not the end of the world.

Skies will try to clear up tonight, but then we'll get hit with some dense fog. Expect travel delays tomorrow morning, and maybe even a dense fog advisory, just for kicks. Morning lows will be back in the 50s, and then we'll get a cold front moving in, bringing cooler and drier air, because we needed that. Temps will still manage to get into the upper 60s, but then they'll drop like a rock overnight into Friday morning, with readings near 40 degrees, brrr! But don't worry, it's not all bad, Friday will be sunny and beautiful, with afternoon highs in the low 60s, and light winds from the north, because we needed a little bit of calm in our lives.

And then, get ready for a rapid warm-up on Saturday, with westerly winds in the upper levels and southwesterly winds at the surface. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 70s, and we'll be like, 'winter, who?' A weak front will move in on Sunday, dropping temps into the mid-60s, but hey, at least it's not cold, right? And oh yeah, winter officially arrives on Sunday, but it won't feel like it, because we're in Texas, and we do things differently here.

Next Monday and Tuesday will be all about warming temps, with highs in the low 70s on Monday, mid-70s on Tuesday, and maybe even warmer than that on Christmas Day. Have a terrific day today, and try to enjoy the weather, because it's the only weather you've got, folks!
