What a terrific holiday weekend it was, keeping me a bit busy with rainfall totals ranging from 3 to 5 inches in some locations. We are now nearly two and a half inches above average for yearly rainfall, with more precipitation expected in my 7-Day forecast.
Happy Tuesday, ladies and gentlemen. I hope you had a great holiday weekend. It's back to work and school. Temperatures are currently in the upper 60s to low 70s, with clear radar. However, I cannot rule out a late-day shower or isolated storm today, with afternoon highs nearing 90 degrees. Our average high has dropped to 92 degrees and will continue to decrease into the low 80s by the end of the month, thanks to the loss of 45 minutes of daylight. Happy meteorological fall!
Wednesday through Friday, temperatures will rise a few degrees, leveling off in the mid-90s by the end of the week in some areas, with heat indices approaching 100 degrees. While not unusual for this time of year, isolated late-day storms are possible on Thursday and Friday.
Another cold front will move into the area late Friday, producing scattered showers and storms late Friday and Saturday. Afternoon highs on Saturday will be cooler, ranging from the mid to upper 80s.
Extended weather data indicates a strong storm system approaching from the West late Saturday and Sunday. While it's too early to predict timing, coverage, and rainfall totals, this storm could bring much-needed rain to our area and the state. Afternoon highs will only reach the low to mid-80s, or possibly the 70s if it's raining. It's also too early to determine if any storms will become severe, but it's possible. As of now, next Tuesday looks to be MUCH cooler! Stay tuned.
That's all for this Tuesday morning. I hope everyone has an awesome day and remember to enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got.
