As we edge closer to the weekend, Mr. Sunshine will make an appearance after being missing for the last several days! This should put a spring in your step!
You'll need a jacket again this morning, as temperatures have fallen into the fifties across much of north Texas. Nothing is showing on radar, so roadways are dry.
Sunshine reappears by late morning into the early afternoon, but temperatures will remain about 10゚ below average for this time of the year. Forecasting a high of 73゚
Tomorrow will be downright gorgeous as we jump up into the upper seventies.
This weekend, at least half of it, is looking OK. Sunny, breezy and warm on Saturday with highs in the low eighties. By Saturday evening, an area of thunderstorms will form across the Texas panhandle and west Texas. This area of storms will head east through the early morning hours on Sunday and slowly weaken as it moves into north and central Texas. I can't rule out some rumbles of thunder and some rain the 1st 6 hours after sunrise on Sunday.
Next week's weather looks VERY unsettled. An upper level low will slowly creep towards us out of the Desert Southwest. This combined with a cold front going stationary somewhere along the Red River...sets us up for a possible flooding event Tuesday through Friday. We're still a good 5 days out from the onset of this event, so it's way too early to tell if any of the storms will be severe. Stay tuned!
Temperatures will be in the low eighties each day, but cool into the seventies during the rain.
I will be closely monitoring the flooding threat as we start our new workweek. Some data is suggesting anywhere between 4" to 8" of rain across North Texas.
