Fall is officially six days away, but unfortunately, it will not feel like it for the next seven days. Also, some of you may be fortunate enough to experience showers and storms before the weekend.

Happy Tuesday, everyone. We all enjoyed a cool down at the beginning of September, and lately, temperatures have been above average, with afternoon highs in the low to mid-90s. This trend will continue today and tomorrow, with about a 10% chance of a late afternoon or evening non-severe shower or storm. High pressure remains in control over the area.

This ridge of high pressure will briefly move west on Thursday and Friday, allowing a couple of disturbances to move out of the central plains states. This will trigger showers and storms across the Panhandle late Wednesday afternoon and evening. These storms will move southeast but will likely dissipate before they arrive here on Thursday morning. I will continue to monitor the situation, but I am not overly concerned. High temperatures will reach near 90 on Thursday.

Another cluster of storms will form along the second disturbance late Thursday in Oklahoma. These storms have a better chance of surviving as they move into North Texas on Friday morning. These storms will leave some boundaries around for Friday afternoon and evening, but this will not be a widespread event. Afternoon highs will once again reach 90 degrees, cooling if you experience rain in your area.

As of now, the weekend looks fairly decent, with afternoon highs in the low 90s. I cannot rule out a late-day shower or storm, but most areas will remain dry. Slightly better chances of rain will return on Monday, with highs in the upper 80s.

Late last week, I was discussing a possible cold front this weekend, then I mentioned it would arrive early next week. As of now, it appears that no significant cold fronts will impact our weather over the next seven to ten days, but we will eventually experience a cooldown as we head into October.

Have a great day today, and please enjoy the weather when you can; it is the only weather youo;ve got!
