Above-average temperatures and below-average precipitation will continue to be the weather story in North Texas through the middle of next week.
The jet stream remains well to the north of the Lone Star State. This will keep mornings pleasant and afternoons rather warm for this time of the year. The weak front that moved through yesterday is lifting back to the north as a light southerly wind returns. Due to high-pressure building across the area in the upper levels and light wind, an air quality alert is in effect Wednesday. This will most likely continue through the rest of the week. No major weather changes are expected through next Tuesday.
Wednesday morning began with temperatures in the 60s. There will be plenty of sunshine with highs in the upper 80s. More sunshine will be around through Sunday. Afternoon highs will reach the low 90s. Morning lows will mainly be in the 60s, near 70 in the immediate Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Unfortunately, this weather pattern will continue through the middle of next week, with only a slight cool-down next Monday and Tuesday. Highs will be in the upper 80s. No rain is in the forecast for the next seven days, however, there will be some scattered showers across the southeastern two-thirds of the state this weekend, especially towards the Texas coast.
