It's another chilly start across North Texas as temperatures have fallen to or slightly below freezing this morning. Some areas are in the low to mid 20s off to the north of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It's essential to warm your cars up before heading out this morning.
Good morning, and welcome to the second to last day of 2025. It's hard to believe another year has almost come to a close. As stated above, it's cold this morning. Temperatures are in the twenties across much of the area as the wind has calmed down under a clear sky. Ample sunshine will dominate our weather today, with afternoon highs creeping up into the low to mid fifties, close to average for this time of year.
A cold dome of high pressure at the surface will rapidly head off to the east today, and southerly winds will return by the evening and tomorrow as a warm up begins. We'll start off tomorrow morning in the 30s again; however, I think the freeze line will be in East Texas in the arklatex, but it'll still be cold with light wind under a clear sky.
Tomorrow will be sunny and beautiful as we warm up into the low to mid 60s. If you're heading out for New Year's Eve, temperatures will be falling into the 50s during the evening, and we should be around 48 degrees by midnight.
Temperatures will fall into the low to mid-40s as you wake up on New Year's Day. We're expecting sunny and beautiful weather with highs in the low 70s.
A weak cold front will come into the area the first half of Friday, but unfortunately, it won't bring any rain with it. Afternoon highs will be near 70 degrees again.
It will be slightly cooler on Saturday with sunshine as daytime highs cool into the mid 60s, still about 10 degrees above average for this time of year. We're expecting a rapid warm up on Sunday with highs in the mid 70s. More 70-degree weather is expected in the early next week with plenty of sunshine.
Unfortunately, I don't see any rain for the next 7 days as our dry weather pattern continues. We may see a pattern shift the first full week of 2026 with a possibility of increasing rain chances, but I still don't see any bitter cold air heading into the area anytime soon.
Have a blessed day today and please enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got.
