Bundle up this morning! Temperatures have fallen to or slightly below freezing this morning across all of north Texas! Readings range from 25゚ and Gainesville to 32゚ in Addison. Keep your jackets handy, because temperatures aren't going to warm up to much today. Readings will be in the low fifties with plenty of sunshine.
Not as cold tonight with lows in the low to mid thirties. Highs tomorrow will warm to near 60゚... as a breezy south wind returns.
Clouds increase by evening giving way for our next chance of light rain. It will arrive from west to east after midnight and should be out of north Texas before noon on Saturday. West winds will quickly follow the weak front by early afternoon. Gusts to 35 mph are possible. This is a warming effect.... wind that blows down in elevation (west to east) causes compression... a heating effect. So, that being said, temperatures will warm into the low seventies! The gusty west wind will bring some west Texas dust into our area as well.... making for a pretty sunset Saturday evening...a bit of dust will also settle on your windshield by Sunday morning.
A weak cold front will move through early Sunday dropping temperatures into the upper fifties for highs, but that's right around average for this time of the year.
A slow warm at through the sixties is expected into next Thursday, with our next rain chance arriving late Wednesday into Thursday.
Following quickly behind Thursday's system will be some pretty chilly air.... as afternoon highs may not get out of the forties are even thirties towards next weekend. Hard freezes are expected that each night. As of now, I don't see any precipitation with the chilly air mass next weekend, but it does bare watching.
