Clouds have invaded much of north Texas at this hour, but a few peeks of sunshine are possible by this afternoon.
Temperatures range between the upper forties to low sixties, dependent on cloud cover. Southeast winds will pick up through the day and gust to 25 mph. Temperatures will be warm again with highs near 80゚!
Another powerful storm system is rapidly heading towards the 4 corners area of the U.S. A surface level will develop in southeast Colorado and move just north of Interstate 40 through the overnight and into tomorrow. This will help ignite the dry line in west Texas.
I'm looking for strong to severe thunderstorms to start breaking out to our west late this evening. These individual storms well form into a squall line and will move through here between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Severe weather threats: mainly hail and wind, but a tornado is never out of the question within a severe thunderstorm. I want to stress....the tornado threat is very low. I will wake up extra early tomorrow morning to monitor things for everybody.
For those of you that have a severe weather phobia, set your alarm for 2:00 a.m. tomorrow morning and peek at the radar. Also, you can tune in to KRLD at the top and bottoms of the hour or immediately after a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning is issued.
The storms should blow east of us by mid morning or a bit earlier. Clouds will decrease by afternoon as southwest winds pick up gusting to 40 mph. Dry air will invade, giving way giving north Texas a beautiful Thursday through Sunday. Afternoon highs will be in the sixties Thursday and Friday...warming to near 70 into the weekend... Spring arrives early Saturday morning!
