A beautiful day is expected today, followed by colder and breezy conditions with rain tomorrow, slow clearing on Friday, and a pleasant weekend. These are your weather stories over the next seven days.
Good morning, and welcome to Wednesday. As you head out this morning, grab your jacket, as temperatures are chilly but seasonal, ranging from the upper 30s to low 40s at 5:00 a.m. Currently, radar is clear, but this will change by tomorrow.
Clouds will increase rapidly throughout the day, with afternoon highs reaching the 60° mark, making for a beautiful day. Our next weather change arrives late this evening, as a strong cold front moves into the area, bringing temperatures down to the mid-to-upper 30s by tomorrow morning, with light drizzle.
If you are traveling 150 miles northwest of DFW or about 80 miles north, you may encounter rain mixed with sleet through the noon hour, with no accumulations expected. Waves of light rain will pass through the area on Thursday, with temperatures remaining cold. Afternoon highs will struggle to reach the low 40s, with a north wind at 10 to 20 mph. Average rainfall totals will be less than a quarter of an inch, making for a cold, breezy, and gloomy day.
Overnight Thursday and into Friday morning, areas of light rain and drizzle will persist, with morning lows dipping into the upper 30s. Plan to allow extra time getting to work or school on Friday. Clouds will stick around most of the day Friday, with afternoon highs in the low 50s, if favorable.
If you can endure Thursday's weather, you will enjoy this weekend's weather, with plenty of sunshine and afternoon highs near 60° on Saturday. Another weak cold front will arrive Saturday night into Sunday morning, dropping temperatures into the mid-to-upper 50s for highs on Sunday, without any rain.
Surface high pressure will dominate our weather Monday and Tuesday of next week, with afternoon highs near 60° and morning lows in the mid-to-upper 30s. Plenty of sunshine will greet you each day.
That concludes this Wednesday morning's weather update. Have a beautiful day and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got!
