Another Wind Advisory is in effect for North Texas on Wednesday

Wind advisory
National Weather Service

A significant increase in wind is expected throughout Wednesday. A wind advisory will remain in effect until 9 p.m. Furthermore, blowing dust will move into the area in the afternoon as a dry line and cold front cause relative humidity levels to drop into the teens.

Temperatures in some areas were near 70 degrees on Wednesday morning, with a cloud bank moving in from the south. However, just west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, a dry line will bring rapidly increasing winds from the west, gusting up to 35 mph through the morning hours. As the winds shift to the northwest by late morning and afternoon, dust from the Texas Panhandle and West Texas will reduce visibility and cause discomfort in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Afternoon highs will gradually decrease into the 60s throughout the day and drop to the upper 30s to low 40s by Thursday.

Thursday is expected to be a pleasant day, ideal for outdoor activities such as fishing, golf, or pickleball, with lighter winds and afternoon highs in the mid-60s. However, do not let your guard down, as the wind will return on Friday, gusting up to 35 miles per hour from the south, and warming temperatures into the mid-70s.

For those with outdoor weekend plans, the weather is expected to be beautiful but windy, with afternoon highs reaching the low 80s and passing high clouds. By Sunday night, a cold front will move through the area, producing scattered strong thunderstorms, primarily along and south of Interstate 30. This weekend's cold front will not be as strong as the current one, and Monday is expected to be slightly cooler with plenty of sunshine, and highs reaching the mid-70s.

Temperatures will return to the 80s by Tuesday, with no rain expected.
