It's finally time to discuss cold fronts in North Texas. The region has been experiencing unseasonably warm and dry conditions. I will address the warmth, but the dryness will persist, with Saturday being the only chance for precipitation in the next seven days.
Happy Friday, ladies and gentlemen. I hope you've had a productive week thus far. The weather has been exceptional. However, as we say in Texas, things are a-fixin' to change! Not today, but tomorrow.
We're waking up to milder temperatures this morning, with readings ranging from the upper 60s to low 70s. The return of south winds will facilitate the influx of Gulf moisture over the next 36 hours. Partly cloudy conditions are expected today, with afternoon highs reaching the upper 80s. Tonight, low clouds will attempt to move in from the south, while temperatures only drop to the low 70s, resulting in a muggy start to Saturday. High school football this evening should be pleasant.
Saturday marks our weather change day. An area of showers and storms will develop along the dryline west of us by late morning, moving through the area during the afternoon. I cannot rule out a few strong storms, with a possibility of isolated severe warnings for hail and wind. The rain should clear by dinnertime or possibly sooner, followed by a shift in winds to the southwest with gusts up to 25 mph and drier air filtering in.
The cold front will pass through after midnight, bringing temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s by Sunday morning, accompanied by north winds at 10 to 20 mph. Afternoon highs on Sunday will only reach the mid-70s, making it an ideal day for the final day of the State Fair of Texas.
A quick rebound in temperatures is expected on Monday, with plenty of sunshine and afternoon highs potentially reaching the 90-degree mark again.
Another cold front arrives early Tuesday morning, this time dry, with sunny, breezy, and beautiful weather to follow. Afternoon highs will top out near 80 degrees. Temperatures will gradually increase on Wednesday and Thursday, with afternoon highs reaching the low to mid-80s.
There is a possibility of another cold front arriving on Thursday, which may bring rain and cooler temperatures back to the area. Please stay tuned for updates on the third front, as extended data varies regarding timing, rainfall extent, and temperature trends.
Have a great Friday, ladies and gentlemen, and thank you for following my page. Please enjoy the weather when you can, as it's the only weather you've got!
