Radar is showing some light precipitation across parts of North Texas in the form of sleet and snow believe it or not. Temperatures are safely above freezing, so no travel impacts are expected. This precipitation is very light and few and far between. It will all move out later this morning. Crazy Texas weather!
Overnight, we saw some welcome rain across north Texas. Most areas received less than a ⅓ of an inch. Clouds will exit this afternoon, but it will remain cool. We're in the thirties this morning and will struggle to hit 50゚ this afternoon. The wind gusting to 30 mph will make it feel much colder. Bundle up!
Clouds roll back in overnight tonight, as temperatures fall into the mid thirties. It will be a cloudy and breezy day tomorrow with a few light rain showers around. The best chance for measurable rain will be well to the south and east of DFW. Temperatures will be in the forties all day long.
Wednesday and Thursday look grand! Ample sunshine with warming temperatures. Low sixties for Wednesday, near 70 on Thursday. Then the bottom drops out again.
A strong cold front will plow through the area the 2nd half of Thursday, ushering in much colder air. When you wake up Friday morning, clouds will be abundant, precipitation may be falling, and temperatures will be hovering near the freezing mark!
A strong upper level disturbance moves across the area on Friday promoting a chilly rain, mainly South of I 20 and a possible wintry mix North of I 20. With temperatures near freezing all day, we could have some travel impacts, but we're still 4 days out from this possible event. I'll have updates throughout the week.
Precipitation moves out late Friday and sunshine returns into the weekend, but it will stay cold. Highs on Saturday will only be in the mid to upper forties. Heck, we'll be back in the sixties by Sunday!
