The clouds and wind will stick around today. Temperatures will have a hard time hitting 50゚. Clouds and less wind tonight with lows in the low to mid forties. Tomorrow, the sun breaks out by afternoon as we approach 50゚. Rinse and repeat for Saturday, but morning lows will drop into the thirties due to the clear skies.
By Saturday evening, clouds will rapidly increase across north Texas. A strong storm system still offshore from the Pacific Northwest will impact our weather on Sunday. There will be precipitation around falling in the form of rain, sleet or snow... depending on the track of the upper level low.
The big question is how much will we see here across North Texas? If the track heads South of interstate 20, we could see a decent amount of snow in DFW…a wet snow I might add. If the track of the upper level low comes over us or along the Red River, we will just see a cold rain ending as snow with little accumulation.
Please keep in mind we are still 72 hours from this event, so I'm hesitant to give snow locations and totals until late Saturday into the predawn hours of Sunday morning.
Remember, it's been 5 years since DFW airport has seen anything greater than a quarter of an inch of snow. This event may end our snow drought.
Warming temperatures return next week.
