The fog is back, especially west and south of DFW this morning. That's where a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until noon today. Also, rain is back in the forecast for later this afternoon through the overnight hours as a decent cold front blows through the area after midnight.
You'll need your umbrella later today, but jackets are necessary this morning as temperatures have fallen into the upper 40s. The sun will not make an appearance today as we struggle to warm above 56°.
A very strong upper-level disturbance in northern New Mexico will cruise along the Red River late this evening through Saturday morning. This will help drag a cold front through the area after midnight and increase the rain from west to east starting late this afternoon and then on and off through the overnight hours. General rainfall totals will be less than a quarter of an inch, but heavier rain is expected north of the Red River into Oklahoma. Nothing severe is expected, but I can't rule out some small hail in a stronger storm in these areas.
That cold front will move through the area after midnight so tomorrow morning you'll wake up to a cloudy sky, some patchy drizzle, a brisk NNW wind, and temperatures in the low to mid-40s. Wind chills will be in the 30s. Clouds will remain across north Texas during the day on Saturday as the roads slowly dry up. Afternoon highs will hover in the mid to upper 40s all day long.

Skies remain cloudy into Sunday morning with lows in the mid to upper 30s. The sun will finally return by late morning with highs in the mid'50s.
Cool mornings and mild afternoons will be our weather story Monday through Thursday of next week. Afternoon highs will jump back into the 60s. A weak cold front will come through Wednesday knocking temperatures down a few degrees through Thursday. Our next weathermaker arrives next weekend.
