Cold air has arrived in DFW, patchy freezing drizzle over next few mornings

UPDATE: 7:00 a.m.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the northern counties of the DFW Metroplex, and near the Red River.

The freeze line is now stretching into the north sides of Dallas and Fort Worth. There's also some light drizzle out there. Some of it may freeze on elevated objects, but as of now I'm not concerned about bridges and overpasses. The drizzle is very light. This being said, the drizzle is freezing on my patio railings at 60' above the ground in north Fort Worth!

This drizzle should taper off by late morning, but skies will remain cloudy today. High temperatures will struggle to get out of the mid thirties.

More freezing drizzle will develop late tonight and through noon tomorrow morning. This is when bridges and overpasses may have some slick spots across DFW especially north and west of us.

Thursday morning will need to be watched as well as colder the colder air gets deeper. There may even be some light sleet mixing in causing some travel problems.

As of now, no Winter Weather Advisories have been posted for tomorrow morning, but the weather service is monitoring, there may also be a Winter Weather Advisory issued for Thursday morning as well.

We finally get out of the icebox by the middle of next week.
