Temperatures are starting off in the seventies again this morning with a few breaks in the clouds. There are also a few isolated showers in Dallas and Denton Counties at this hour. However, the bulk of the rain is just north of the Red River Valley and its sagging southeast.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in your forecast today with highs in the mid to upper eighties. Yesterday we hit 96゚ with only 0.01" of rain at DFW in the past 24 hours, but some areas saw over 2"!
A slow moving cold front will back in from the northeast today and will press south of the area by tomorrow, taking the bulk of the rain with it.
There will be some scattered showers and storms around before noon, but after that, I think we're mainly dry here across DFW with afternoon highs in the upper eighties through the holiday weekend! All firework shows are a go in my opinion!
But wait there's more! An area of low pressure in the upper levels will get trapped across Southwest and central Texas Monday through Thursday next week, keeping shower and thunderstorm chances in the forecast, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. High temperatures will be near 90゚. Very cool for this time of the year!
