A cold front will drop temperatures Wednesday night through Friday, followed by a quick warm-up this weekend, and a pattern change unfolding next week with a chance of rain and much cooler temperatures.

Wednesday morning temperatures fell into the low to mid-50s. Believe it or not, that's still above average for this time of the year. The average low is 47 degrees and the average high is 67. It will be much warmer than that Wednesday. Afternoon highs will reach the mid to upper 70s. The cold front comes through dry in the afternoon.

Temperatures will fall between 43 and 50 degrees on Thursday morning. There will be plenty of sunshine by afternoon with high temperatures only near 70 degrees. Rinse and repeat that forecast for Friday.

A southerly wind picks up this weekend and temperatures will creep up into the mid- to upper 70s. There will also be some low clouds starting to move in on Sunday and Monday mornings, as humidity levels increase off of the Gulf of Mexico.

The next weather maker arrives the second half of Monday into Tuesday. A Pacific front will move through Monday evening into Tuesday morning giving us a chance for showers and storms. The heavier rain and isolated strong storms should remain west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. High temperatures will be near 70 degrees on Monday.

A second cold front will move through the area in the second half of Tuesday. There may be some showers and storms along that front, especially from Dallas to the east. Windy and much colder air will filter in for Wednesday and Thursday. Some areas may not get out of the 50s for highs, with morning lows in the 30s and 40s. We'll have to keep an eye on the freeze line on Thursday and Friday mornings of next week.
