Cold temperatures return and are with us through the weekend

We start off Friday with temperatures falling into the 20s and gusty north winds to near 35-40 mph, wind chill values will be in the teens and single digits.

The National Weather Service says the rest of your Friday will be cold. Highs only in the mid-30s to lower 40s. Afternoon wind chills will mostly be in the 20s.


Tonight will be the coldest night with lows in the teens/20s and wind chills in the low teens/single digits.

SundayNational Weather Service - Fort Worth

Rain chances return on Sunday. Given the cold temperatures, there is a 20-30% chance of freezing rain along the Red River Sunday night. If this does occur across North Texas Sunday night into Monday morning, it won't last long because temperatures will warm above freezing by noon Monday.

If freezing rain does occur in North Texas, it could be a messy commute Monday morning.
