Coldest air of the fall season arrives Saturday evening

North Texas forecast for Friday November 7, 2025
North Texas forecast for Friday November 7, 2025
National Weather Service

T- 39 hours until the coldest air of the fall season arrives. This will be a shock to the body due to the recently warm temperatures we've been experiencing. Good news ... it won't last long.

We finally reached Friday ladies and gentlemen! Heck yeah! As you step out the door this morning, most of you won't need a jacket, a few of you will due to a south wind at 10 to 15 mph. Temperatures have only fallen into the low to mid 60s. That's a good 12 to 15° above average for this time of the year. Sunny and beautiful today with afternoon highs near 80°. We will be a little bit cooler this afternoon than what we experienced yesterday due to a weak cold front moving into the area close to lunch time. Unfortunately, it doesn't bring a drop of rain.

Those of you that are heading out for a night on the town or sitting in the bleachers at your local high school football game the weather is going to be fantastic! Temperatures will be falling through the '70s and down into the low to mid-50s by daybreak tomorrow. A little bit cooler than what we're experiencing this morning. Sunny and beautiful for Saturday with highs near 80°!

Our strong cold front arrives from Northwest to Southeast after dinner time Saturday. The wind will really start to pick up close to midnight and be howling through Sunday early evening. You'll  wake up to temperatures in the mid to upper 40s on Sunday, wind chills will be near 40°. Bundle up! Even though the sun will be out on Sunday, we'll struggle to get above 55° with a north wind gusting to 30 to 35 mph.

As surface high pressure settles directly overhead Monday morning, the wind will go calm, skies will be clear, and radiational cooling will take place. There will be widespread frost advisories and some freeze warnings across North Texas for Monday morning. Make sure you take the necessary precautions to protect tender vegetation and bring your pets indoors before heading to bed Sunday night. Morning lows will dip between 28° and 35°, warmest than the immediate Dallas Fort Worth area.

Monday remains cool with plenty of sunshine and light wind. Afternoon highs will reach the mid to Upper 50s, a good 12° below average for this time of the year.

We won't be as cool Tuesday morning, but still below average with morning lows anywhere between 35° and 43°. Sunny and beautiful by afternoon with hives approaching 70° as south winds return.

Our warm up continues into Wednesday and Thursday with highs reaching the upper 70s on Wednesday, low 80s on Thursday. Morning lows will be in the 50s with winds gusting close to 30 mph during the afternoon hours.

Unfortunately, no rain is in the forecast at least for the next 10 days! My sincere apologies!

Have a great friday, enjoy your weekend, and remember to enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got!
