North Texas forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, March 5-6, 2025.
National Weather Service

Strong winds, including gusts over 50 mph on Tuesday, a confirmed tornado, and gusts exceeding 70 mph in the morning, have impacted the region. Following the dust, temperatures dropped significantly, resulting in a chilly Wednesday morning.

Morning temperatures ranged from the upper 30s to low 40s on Wednesday. Wind chill temperatures were even lower, in the 30s, with the north wind still gusting at 25 mph. Wednesday will be sunny, windy, and cool, with afternoon highs approaching 60 degrees. A north wind will continue to gust to 35 mph. However, the wind will subside by this evening.

Wednesday night will be clear and cold, with lows between 35 and 40 degrees. No freeze is expected, except in sheltered areas away from town. The wind will be light and variable.

Fortunately, southerly winds will rapidly return on Thursday, leading to a warming trend. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 60s. A south wind will gust to 30 mph.

On Friday, the wind will shift to a west-southwesterly direction, allowing temperatures to rise into the low 80s under plenty of sunshine. The next cold front will arrive early Saturday morning, bringing increasing clouds and temperatures in the low 60s.

As the front passes through, the wind will shift to the north and gust at approximately 25 mph, ushering in chilly air. By late afternoon, temperatures will have dropped to the mid-to-upper 40s, with scattered showers possible throughout the day. Clouds and rain will exit by late evening. There is a 60% chance of showers, with the greatest chances along and north of Interstate 20. Less than a quarter inch of rain is expected.

Sunday will be pleasant but cool, with plenty of sunshine and highs near 60 degrees. Temperatures will return to the 70s on Monday and Tuesday, accompanied by ample sunshine.
