A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for parts of North Texas until 12 p.m. Thursday and multiple Flood Warnings were in place through mid-morning, as moderate to heavy rainfall continues to move across the area.
DFW Airport received nearly 4 inches of rain from Wednesday night to Thursday morning, with a record rainfall of 2.80 inches measured on Wednesday. The airport is already approaching Thursday's record of 1.24 inches. Areas south and east of the Dallas-Fort Worth area have received over 5 inches of rain.
The heavy rain and thunderstorms shifted south and east of DFW early Thursday. Waves of moderate rain will continue through mid to late morning before moving east of our area by 12 p.m. Rapid clearing will take place Thursday afternoon from west to east, with highs reaching the mid-60s.
Thursday will be clear and cool, with morning lows dipping into the mid-40s. Plenty of sunshine is expected on Friday, with highs returning to the mid-60s.
This weekend is expected to be spectacular, with plenty of sunshine throughout the period. Saturday will warm up to the low to mid-70s, while Sunday will see highs in the mid-70s, with some areas west of Fort Worth potentially reaching 80 degrees.
Another warm day is expected on Monday, with many areas reaching 80 degrees and warmer temperatures west of Fort Worth. A dry cold front will arrive on Tuesday morning, bringing cooler temperatures and a north wind gusting up to 25 mph. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with highs in the mid-50s.
This front is forecast to move back north on Wednesday, resulting in a rapid warm-up. High clouds will return, with highs nearing 70 degrees.
