DFW Weather: From Winter to Spring in a week's time

We've got a couple of cold fronts that will cool temperatures down tomorrow and then again next Sunday, but no Arctic air will accompany these fronts. We also have a lot of rain in the forecast, off and on starting Thursday and lasting through the middle of next week. That means we won't see the sun for a while again. This may make you feel a little despondent but, we need the rain. We are almost 3" below normal on rainfall.

The rain that moves in the 2nd half at Thursday will give us about a quarter of an inch in the ol' rain bucket. Heaviest rain will fall east of Dallas and Fort Worth.

The 2nd chance of rain arrives late Saturday into Sunday, as the cold front to our south lifts to the north. Before that happens temperatures will remain cool on Thursday and Friday with highs struggling to get above  50゚. A rapid warm up will unfold, as this front lifts North Saturday, high temperatures will warm into the mid to upper sixties! 2nd front, with rain, will cool us back in the 50s on Sunday and Monday. That's the time we may even hear some rumbles of thunder with the rainfall that gives us more measurable precipitation.

A couple more systems next week will keep our rain chances in the forecast Monday through Wednesday of next week. Some data suggests by March 8th, we will have received 4" to 6" of rain. That should erase our rainfall deficit for 2021.
