Dry and chilly weather through Saturday, increasing chances of rain/snow on Sunday

A potent upper level low will be cruising from west to east across the state on Sunday. Although the official track is yet to be determined, it's looking like we'll start off with a chilly rain Sunday morning after 6:00 a.m. and see a transition to a wet snow by late morning into early afternoon across north Texas.

By tomorrow, I'll know a lot more on the storms track. If it tracks a bit south of the Dallas/Fort Worth area, we'll see more accumulating wet snow. If it travels right over us, accumulations will be lighter.

The one thing we have in our favor will be the temperatures. We'll be in the upper thirties on Sunday morning and slowly cool into the mid thirties by afternoon and possibly near freezing by evening. Also, with TxDOT laying down the brine solution,  This will also aid in the melting process of any snow that does fall on the roads.  Although the roads may become slick here, conditions will be much worse to the west of us, where Winter Storm Wtches are now in effect out west of Wichita Falls and Abilene, where 3"to 6" of snow may fall.

No Winter Storm Watches or Winter Weather Advisories right now across north Texas.  This may change as we get closer to Sunday.

Light snow will continue into Sunday night, ending early Monday morning. Temperatures will be near freezing on Monday morning so there could be some slick spots. Sunshine returns by afternoon, but we only warm into the low forties. We're back in the fifties with sunshine for Tuesday and Wednesday.
