A big pattern change is on the way this week with a decent shot of on and off showers and thunderstorms!
This morning, we're starting off in the sixties to low seventies across north Texas. No rain is in the forecast today with high temperatures back near 90゚. Dewpoints are still in the fifties, so it won't feel too bad out there.
Humidity will start to increase by late tomorrow and so will the shower and thunderstorm chances. Afternoon highs will still touch 90゚ By tomorrow evening, a decent cluster of showers and strong thunderstorms will form to the west of us and move across the area through the overnight hours. As of now, I'm not expecting anything severe, but we could have some gusty wind in the stronger storms. The rain should move east of us by Wednesday morning.
I believe we'll get a break in the majority of the rain on Wednesday with high temperatures back in the upper eighties. Another batch of showers and storms will move into the area late Wednesday and Thursday and then again on Friday and Saturday. It's still way too early to forecast the exact timing of the end of the week batch of storms, but it's definitely in the forecast as a cold front may stall across the area. Temperatures also will be cooler by Friday and Saturday with highs only near 80゚ if we're lucky.
The stalled front should get the push it needs by Sunday allowing it to head well to the south of us, ushering in drier air for Sunday and into early next week. It'll feel more like fall as well with high temperatures near 80 and morning lows in the fifties.
