A few isolated storms later today, a hot and dry weekend, and more showers and storms back in the forecast early next week. Those are your weather stories over the next 7 days.
Good morning. A significant portion of the area experienced rainfall yesterday, while others remained dry. Although rain chances persist today, storms will be less frequent and more scattered. Morning temperatures in the 70s will rise to the low 90s, accompanied by high humidity. Any storms that form will dissipate after sunset.
The majority of the area will remain dry Friday and throughout the weekend, with afternoon highs reaching the mid-90s. Heat index values will approach 100 degrees. It is essential to stay hydrated, check vehicles for children and pets, and take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.
A cold front will stall just north of the area Monday through Wednesday next week, serving as a focal point for numerous showers and storms to develop during the afternoon and evening hours. Widespread shower and thunderstorm activity is expected to occur just north of the area throughout the period. The positioning of this front will be closely monitored, as its location will significantly impact the area's weather. If the front stalls along Interstate 20, a larger portion of the area will experience rain. Conversely, if it stalls north of Highway 380, most areas will remain dry. Updates will be provided as necessary. Afternoon highs next week will range from the low to mid-90s through Wednesday, with temperatures increasing thereafter.
Have a great day and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got.
