Slightly drier air will move in on Friday and Saturday, but it'll still be hot. Heat Advisories will be in place. Afternoon highs will be between 100° and 103° . Heat index values will be 105+ degrees.
A weak front will flirt with the Red River Valley late Saturday, and briefly move south of I-20 on Sunday. This will cool temperatures down into the upper 90s. There's also a slight chance for showers and storms late Saturday into Sunday. Gusty wind will be the threat.
The front lifts back to the north on Monday, as the heat returns. Afternoon highs will range between 102° and 104° with Heat Advisories returning to the area. Unfortunately, the triple digit heat will continue through the rest of next week.
