Temperatures west of Fort Worth will soar into triple digits. Afternoon heat index values will approach 105 degrees. Remember to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if working outdoors, and ensure your pets have a cool, safe space.
This upper-level ridge will weaken over the weekend and early next week, resulting in slightly lower afternoon highs. Temperatures will remain hot, with readings in the mid-to-upper 90s throughout the weekend and into the middle of next week. Heat index values will approach 105 degrees, but heat advisories are unlikely to be issued during this period.
Looking ahead to Monday and Tuesday, a few fortunate areas may experience late-day showers or storms, but most regions will remain dry. Temperatures will continue to reach the mid-to-upper 90s during peak heating hours.
