T-minus three and a half days until the 1st official day of summer. It arrives this Friday at 9:42 p.m. central time. Not everyone may be enthusiastic about this occasion. LOL!

Get ready for a string of near-average days over the next 7, with heat index values around 102°. We also have a slight chance of some rain tomorrow and isolated showers on Thursday as a weak cold front sags into the area.

We're waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper 70s this morning. It's sticky outside, so enjoy! Plenty of sunshine is expected today, with afternoon highs reaching the mid-90s. Heat index values will be close to 103°. Please stay hydrated if you're working outdoors and take frequent breaks!

Don't be surprised if you see a few showers on radar tomorrow morning. They won't amount to much, and most areas will stay dry. Morning lows will dip into the mid to upper 70s again. By late afternoon, the cold front will sag into the area, bringing a 30% chance of showers and storms. Some gusty winds and tiny hail will be possible threats. Most areas won't see any precipitation. Afternoon highs will reach the low to mid-90s, with heat index values around 102° during peak heating hours.

This front may linger in the area on Thursday, so I can't rule out a few afternoon and evening showers and storms, but again, most areas will stay dry. Afternoon highs will reach the low to mid-90s, with heat index values around 102°.

Friday through the weekend is expected to be hot and dry, folks. Morning lows will be in the mid to upper 70s, with afternoon highs in the mid-90s again. Heat index values will be as high as 103°. Again, please stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if you're working outdoors. Also, make sure your pets have a cool place to stay with plenty of water if you have to leave them outdoors, which is not recommended.

More of the same weather is expected in the early part of next week. Have a great day, everyone, and enjoy the weather when you can, as it's the only weather you've got.
