Heating up, drying up for the foreseeable future

North Texas Forecast for August 6, 2025
North Texas Forecast for August 6, 2025
National Weather Service

Happy Wednesday! As you are aware, we are currently experiencing our hottest period of the year across North Texas. Please remember to take necessary precautions to mitigate the effects of the heat, including checking the back seat for children and pets, staying hydrated if working outdoors, and taking frequent breaks.

With only THREE triple digit temperatures this summer, it hasn't been too bad this year!  We will approach 100 on Friday, with upper 90s being the norm throughout the period and into the weekend. Any shower or thunderstorm activity will be confined to the Texas coast.

The ridge of high pressure currently anchored over New Mexico will gradually weaken and reestablish itself over our region, extending into the eastern United States next week. Presently, it is situated over the desert southwest, with Phoenix and Palm Springs expecting afternoon highs of approximately 115 degrees. Although it is a dry heat, it is nonetheless extremely hot.

Before you know it, the State Fair of Texas will commence, and we will have experienced our first cold front, providing a welcome respite. LOL....Tic Tock!

Have a terrific day today and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the ONLY weather you've got!
