We successfully navigated another weekend without temperatures reaching 100°. Notably, the average first 100° day occurs on July 1st.

I hope everyone had a blessed weekend. As we embark on another workweek, temperatures are expected to gradually approach 100° by Thursday and Friday, accompanied by decreasing afternoon humidity levels. Furthermore, the forecast indicates no precipitation through Friday.

Currently, temperatures are in the mid-to-upper 70s, with clear skies and a gentle southerly breeze of 10 to 20 mph. I anticipate plenty of sunshine and hot conditions today, with highs in the mid-to-upper 90s and heat index values slightly exceeding 100°.

A high-pressure system will continue to advance from the southeastern United States, maintaining mainly clear skies through Friday, with afternoon highs in the mid-to-upper 90s on Tuesday and Wednesday, and near or slightly above 100° on Thursday and Friday. This may prompt the issuance of our first heat advisories of the summer. No precipitation is in the forecast.

This weekend, a low-pressure system will move into the mid-and-upper Texas coast, bringing widespread rain to our southern regions. Consequently, our humidity levels will increase during the afternoon, holding temperatures down to the mid-90s. I estimate a 5% chance of isolated showers encroaching from the southeast during this period.

We are entering our hottest time of the year, starting July 23rd, where average highs reach 97° and remain there for about 3 weeks until mid-August. Subsequently, temperatures will decrease as we transition towards fall.

Have a great day today and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the ONLY weather you've got.
