The remnants of Beryl moved into Michigan on Wednesday and in its wake, a northerly flow in the upper levels continues across North Texas dragging in dry air from the central plains states. Even though temperatures will hit the upper 90s today through the weekend, daytime humidity levels and heat index values will be just a few degrees above the actual temperature. We'll still be above average for this time of the year. The average high is sitting at 95 degrees.
There's a slight chance for a late-day shower or storm today, Saturday, and Sunday, but most will stay dry.
So far this year North Texas has had six triple-digit days. We'll be flirting with that century mark by the weekend, but there are signs that those triple digits will make a return into next week as the ridge of high pressure building into the central plains state starts to build into North Texas.
Lastly, some of the extended weather models are showing a possible cold front by the end of next week bringing cooler temperatures and rain back to the area.
