Much of North Texas experienced severe weather on Friday, with thunderstorm warnings issued for parts of Dallas-Fort Worth and even a confirmed tornado in Navarro County.
A big cluster of storms just missed Dallas-Fort Worth to the north on Friday morning. There could be a few scattered showers and storms in North Texas through 12 p.m. Friday, but most of the area will stay dry. It will be mostly cloudy, windy, and humid on Friday with highs near 80 degrees. A dryline surging toward North Texas late Friday afternoon could produce a few isolated severe storms. East of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, a few storms could form later on Friday.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy, very windy, and muggy. Highs will reach 80 degrees once again. There's a very slight chance of a shower or storm during the afternoon and evening hours, but most stay dry.
Storm chances will rapidly increase after midnight Saturday through at least noon on Sunday, as a Pacific front surges toward North Texas direction. Hail and wind will be the primary threats. This area of storms will form Saturday evening well to the west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and arrive around daybreak Sunday. KRLD Chief Meteorologist Dan Brounoff said he has a gut feeling these storms will weaken as they approach, but it's not set in stone. Highs on Sunday will be near 80 again.
Next week North Texas will experience a ton of humidity and warm temperatures. Highs will be in the low to mid-80s. A few scattered storms are possible during peak heating on Monday and Tuesday. As of Friday, rain chances increase on Wednesday and into Thursday.
