The National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on an area north of the Bahamas for potential tropical development.
If it develops into a tropical storm, it would be the sixteenth named storm before June 1 since the U.S. began tracking tropical weather with satellites, according to Colorado State University hurricane expert Dr. Phil Klotzbach.
Klotzbach is among forecasters predicting a storm season this year that is more active than normal.
