We're starting off cooler this morning with readings in the low to mid 40s. Definitely need or jacket this morning. Clouds have already worked their way into north Texas and they will continue to thicken up as the day wears on. Rain that has developed in south Texas will rapidly spread our direction this afternoon, evening and overnight. There could even be some rumbles of thunder. I'm going upper 40s for highs.
The cool air will stay in place overnight with lows in the mid 40s. Highs tomorrow will struggle to hit 50゚ with a few leftover showers. We'll get a break in the rain the 2nd half of tomorrow.
Your weekend weather looks a bit rainy. There could even be omr strong and isolated severe storms Saturday, as the cold front moves back to the north as a warm front. Temperatures will be considerably warmer on Saturday with highs near 60゚. Some of the thunderstorms will be capable of becoming isolated severe, but will be few and far between. Better chances of showers and isolated severe storms will arrive on Sunday along a cold front. Highs will be in the mid 60s. Some areas might even hit 70゚ to the west and southwest of us. Threats with any severe storms will be hail and wind. The tornado threat will be low due to the lack of instability (heating).
Leftover showers in a few rumbles of thunder are possible on Monday as a strong disturbance cruises through the Panhandle and Oklahoma. Their may be be a pretty good snow storm across the Panhandle on Monday.
Our weather improves drastically Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures getting back into the 60s... Monday's highs will be in the mid 50s.
We definitely need the rain. Our 2021 rainfall deficit is now at 3"
